Premise

You do not drive the car. You manage the race.

Mono Grid is a minimal motorsport strategy game built around reading signals. The player acts as race control for a two-car team: watching gaps, managing tyre risk, choosing pace calls, deciding when to pit, and reacting to changing race conditions sector by sector.

v0.70C retains the two-circuit structure introduced in the previous build and adds AI pace parity. Rival cars now use the same Push, Normal, and Save relationship between performance and tyre life, while the CP column exposes each rival’s compound and current pace call.

Two fictional circuits now create different strategy pressure.

Race control

Read gaps. Protect tyres. Make the pit call.

The core loop is deliberately compact: Push, Normal, Save, or Pit. Each choice changes pressure, tyre condition, gap behavior, and future pit-window risk.

v0.70C makes rival behavior more legible: AI-controlled cars now pay the same tyre cost for pace, and the standings CP column shows compound plus Push, Normal, or Save state.

Race memory

Races become local telegrams, not public leaderboard noise.

Mono Grid intentionally avoids online rankings. A strange race, recovered podium, or failed strategy can be saved as a local Race Telegram: a small archive object that turns a short run into something to review.

Race Telegrams continue to record track identity, circuit profile, and key outcomes, allowing MIRA LOOP and OMEGA COMPLEX to become different local memories rather than entries on an online leaderboard.

Interface language

A tactical desk with restrained feedback, not spectacle.

A motorsport game designed as a quiet decision system.

Strategy over driving

The player acts as race control: observing patterns, managing risk, and making tactical calls instead of steering the car.

Offline by design

No online leaderboard, daily chores, licensed teams, or monetization pressure. The game is built for short, replayable solo sessions.

No-BGM atmosphere

The audio pass uses tactile interface sounds, warnings, printer and shredder effects, and optional room ambience instead of continuous background music.

Public-facing system

The race-control language now extends beyond the game window.

For the public playtest, itch.io presentation, social sharing, and awards materials, the visual system uses the same black field, warm instrument lines, yellow decision state, track geometry, and restrained pixel typography as the game itself.

Playtest status

Mono Grid v0.70C is the current public Windows playtest build.

Rival cars now follow the same pace-versus-tyre principles as the player. The standings CP column shows compound and current pace call, while both circuits, Race Telegrams, tactile interface audio, and optional room ambience remain intact.

Recommended first run: MIRA LOOP / Sprint 5L / Relaxed. Suggested second run: OMEGA COMPLEX / Sprint 5L or Standard 8L / Standard.
